Eclipsed Community Standards
Effective Date: June 26, 2026
Our Purpose
Eclipsed exists to build a welcoming, organized, and long-lasting gaming community where members can enjoy World of Warcraft in an environment founded on respect, teamwork, and integrity.
These Community Standards establish the expectations for every member of Eclipsed. They are designed to foster a mature, inclusive, and enjoyable atmosphere while protecting the health of our community.
While no document can cover every situation, these standards provide the principles that guide our members, leadership, and Council in maintaining a positive environment for everyone.
Community Values
Every member contributes to the culture of Eclipsed. We expect all members to uphold the following values:
- Respect — Treat every member with courtesy and dignity.
- Integrity — Be honest, trustworthy, and accountable.
- Teamwork — Work together and support one another.
- Sportsmanship — Win and lose with humility.
- Communication — Resolve disagreements respectfully and constructively.
- Community First — Place the health of the community above individual conflicts.
Respect for Others
Eclipsed welcomes players from many different backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels.
Members are expected to treat one another with respect regardless of:
- Experience or skill level
- Gender
- Race or ethnicity
- Nationality
- Sexual orientation
- Religious beliefs
- Political beliefs
- Personal background
Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or behavior intended to make another member feel unwelcome has no place within our community.
Communication Standards
Eclipsed is an 18+ community. While we expect mature conversations, we do not permit explicit or inappropriate content.
To maintain a welcoming environment for everyone, members should avoid:
- Political debates or campaigning.
- Religious debates or proselytizing.
- Hate speech.
- Discriminatory language or behavior.
- Harassment or bullying.
- Personal attacks or insults.
- Threats or intimidation.
- Sexual harassment.
- Pornographic or sexually explicit content.
- AI-generated explicit or pornographic content.
Friendly discussions and differing opinions are welcome, but conversations that become divisive, hostile, or disruptive may be moderated by leadership.
Discord Standards
Our Discord exists to organize raids, events, and community activities.
Members are expected to:
- Use channels for their intended purpose.
- Avoid spam or excessive repetitive messages.
- Refrain from unnecessary @mentions or ping abuse.
- Avoid advertising unrelated communities, services, or products without prior approval.
Private Channels
Raid team channels, dungeon channels, officer channels, and other designated private channels are intended only for members of those groups unless specifically invited.
Public Channels
Community channels are open to all members and should remain welcoming, respectful, and on-topic.
Gameplay Conduct
While representing Eclipsed, members are expected to conduct themselves with integrity both inside and outside the guild.
Members may not:
- Cheat or use unauthorized third-party software.
- Exploit bugs or unintended game mechanics.
- Purchase or sell gold (RMT) in violation of Blizzard's policies.
- Use automation or botting software.
- Participate in scams, fraud, or dishonest behavior.
- Intentionally grief group content.
Members should also treat pug groups, other guilds, and the wider World of Warcraft community with respect. Your actions while wearing the Eclipsed guild tag reflect on every member of our community.
Representing Eclipsed
Every member represents Eclipsed whenever they interact with others while carrying the guild tag.
Whether participating in:
- Raids
- Mythic+
- PvP
- Public chat channels
- Discord
- Community events
Members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the guild.
Respectful behavior strengthens our reputation and helps build lasting relationships throughout the World of Warcraft community.
Resolving Conflicts
Disagreements are a natural part of any community.
Whenever possible, members should attempt to resolve issues respectfully and privately.
If additional assistance is needed, we encourage the following escalation process:
- Speak respectfully with the other member, when appropriate.
- Contact your Raid Lead.
- Contact a member of Council.
Public arguments, call-out posts, and unnecessary drama rarely lead to productive outcomes. Our goal is always to resolve issues fairly, respectfully, and professionally.
Leadership Standards
Guild leadership exists to support the community.
Guild Master, Council, Raid Leads, Officers, and Recruiters are expected to:
- Lead by example.
- Apply policies consistently and fairly.
- Communicate openly and respectfully.
- Act with professionalism.
- Place the interests of the community above personal preferences.
- Accept accountability for their own decisions.
Leadership is a responsibility—not a privilege.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Members occasionally share personal circumstances with Raid Leads or Council regarding scheduling, conflicts, or other sensitive matters.
Information shared in confidence should remain confidential unless disclosure is necessary to resolve the issue or protect the community.
Respecting the privacy of fellow members helps build trust throughout Eclipsed.
Enforcement
Council is responsible for enforcing these Community Standards.
Responses to violations will be based on the severity of the situation and may include:
- Informal conversations
- Verbal or written warnings
- Temporary restrictions
- Removal from events or raid teams
- Suspension from the community
- Removal from the guild
When determining an appropriate response, Council may consider:
- The severity of the behavior.
- Whether the behavior was intentional.
- Previous conduct.
- Willingness to correct the issue.
- Impact on the community.
Not every situation requires the same response, and Council will exercise reasonable judgment in each case.
Good Faith
These Community Standards are intended to protect the Eclipsed community—not to create technical loopholes.
Members are expected to follow both the letter and the spirit of these standards.
Attempts to manipulate, circumvent, or intentionally exploit these standards or other guild policies may themselves be considered a violation.
Final Statement
Eclipsed is more than a guild—it is a community built by its members.
Every interaction, every conversation, and every act of sportsmanship contributes to the environment we create together.
Treat one another with respect, communicate with maturity, and help us continue building a community that players are proud to call home.
